Grado SR80 (U.S. Only, S&H - FREE ) - We just don't get it. We have read a comment by a headphone retailer about these headphones saying you need a headphone amp to get a higher quality sound out of these headphones. They say they prefer the sound of the SR60's to these. WRONG!!! The SR80's have been our best selling headphone since 1995 and have compared them side by side with both the SR60's and SR125's and many other brands of headphones dozens of times. In our opinion, the SR80's are simply the best headphones for price/performance and a combination of portable and home listening you can buy! Bass is better than the SR60's and you have to have a very discerning ear to tell the difference between these and the more expensive SR125's. Yes, there are some portable players these days that are on the verge of not being able to power the SR80's, but usually only certain recordings done at lower volume aren't quite loud enough. Depends on your player and recording! Here's a tidbit from our past.... When we had a CD store, customers could sit down and compare headphones for themselves, the SR80's have hands down outsold all other models!
